We’ve all felt that initial surge of motivation — the excitement of starting a new project, hitting the gym, or chasing a dream. But motivation can be fickle, at first.
Get Motivated
THINK: What truly matters to me?
-> Identify your values and find actions to align to those values
THINK: Am I intrinsically motivated or extrinsically motivated?
-> Find an internal or external motivator to fit the best way to ignite yourself!
Consider your overall goal and break the goal down into smaller pieces
Believe in the power of "yet"
"It doesn't work...yet"
"I haven't mastered this...yet."
"I haven't figured it out...yet."
"I don't know how to...yet."
Celebrate small wins with "ta-da" moments!" (Read more on this soon.)
Surround yourself with positivity
Track & visually represent your progress
Remind yourself of your "why" and motivation for your goal
Be Determined
Accept that sometimes the struggle can be a part of building long-term success
Instead of asking yourself, “Why is this hard?” shift to the mentality of; “This is what growth feels like.”
Build a system, structure schedule instead of relying on "willpower" to move you through your progress
Accept that failure and setbacks are a part of the process and that these pieces are important to gain feedback in order to further shape and determine the course to follow!
Motivation sparks action, but determination sustains it. Every time you choose to keep going — even for one more day — you’re strengthening the muscle of persistence. Over time, that quiet discipline becomes your superpower.
