Kim has more than a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, and communities.

Before becoming a therapist, Kim worked as an elementary and special education teacher. Her professional background also includes community mental health and higher-acuity behavioral health settings, providing her with experience working with individuals across a wide range of needs and life experiences.

Kim is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in IL and a Licensed Professional Counselor in WI. She is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors and has her Professional Educator License in IL.

Kim has her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Quincy University and a master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Trauma-Informed Certification from Northern Illinois University.

"I entered education in 2014 hoping to make a difference. As time went on, I witnessed how students were struggling because the "systems" around them weren't always equipped to recognize or support the ways they experienced the world.

Over time, I realized that while systemic change is worthwhile, it can be difficult to create from within existing structures. I found myself wanting to focus on what I could influence most directly- being a consistent, supportive presence for individuals as they navigated those challenges."

"Therapy with me feels like gaining both insight and practical tools-understanding the 'why' behind your experiences while learning new ways to move forward."

Rachel is a graduate student in the clinical mental health counseling program at Colorado Christian University. She is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, offering support, encouragement, and a space for healing and personal growth.

Her counseling approach is collaborative and person-centered, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapies while honoring each client’s unique experiences, needs, and goals. Rachel hopes to work with individual adults and strive to create a counseling environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they move toward meaningful and lasting change.

As a Christian counselor in training, Rachel's approach to counseling is rooted in a biblical worldview that embraces authenticity, integrity, and respect. These values lead her to approach each person with curiosity, empathy, and a willingness to learn from their unique experiences. â€‹
